There's a Lesson Here

Cruising the web--ah hell, ego surfing was what I was doing--I ran across these two journal entries about my story in Interzone.

The first:

With no regrets, I neglected to finish the likes of Sundowner Sheila by F. Gwynplaine MacIntyre, and Joseph Paul Haines' Ten With A Flag. Well, it's simply clunky dialogues, uninspired intros, or pointlessly arty aesthetics that puts me off sometimes, or perhaps an indefinable combo of unappealing abstracts and overly familiar notions.

And then I ran into this, elsewhere:

"Ten With A Flag" (Joseph Paul Haines) was very Philip K. Dick, and probably the strongest story here.

There's a lesson to be learned here.

Joseph Haines, signing off from The Edge of The Abyss.
