I hate December. There's just never enough time to do things I enjoy doing (practice guitar, write, read) and too many things to do that, well, aren't as enjoyable.

December things I have done:

  • Visiting friends I won't see for the holidays, like my friend, Dan. We went drinking in San Francisco last night and I got home late. Very tired today.
  • Shopping. My wife has finally agreed I should be nowhere near a mall during December, but I still have to buy her gifts.
  • Work, and it's a bit crazier than normal.
  • Preparing for Boston vacation.
  • My son's first dance show at his school tonight.
  • Year-end eye exam.
  • Dental exam.
  • Okay, some of these things are fun...
  • Things that are really getting on my nerves:

  • SUVs.
  • People who drive SUVs.
  • People who drive SUVs on backroads during the morning commute who can't navigate windy roads.
  • Never mind that, but these people have at least a 40 mile commute each way. How expensive does gas have to get before they buy a smaller car??
  • It's dark when I drive to work, and it's dark when I drive home.
  • The F chord and any other chord that requires me to use my weak, uncoordinated little finger
  • Gwen Stefani. Why is she everywhere? And I don't believe it now, and didn't believe it when they announced it, that "No Doubt is just taking a break, they haven't broken up so Gwen could pursue a solo career."
  • Same with Rob Thomas, although I think Matchbox Twenty will record another album. His solo stuff is good, but not as good as the band.
  • And finally, the latest non-writer, famous for nothing (or something stupid) nitwit to not only get a book deal, but to have that book displayed in the front of every Barnes and Noble right next to James Patterson. THIS IS JUST WRONG!!!!
