It was a very hectic weekend, which all but cancelled out my perfect Friday. I took the day off, and Ben went to school and Mary went to work, and I had hours to listen to music, play my guitar and try to plot.

Then came the weekend, with baseball practice and play dates and chores. Hectic, hectic, hectic. Crazy, crazy, crazy.

Walk The Line

One thing I did Friday night was rent and watch WALK THE LINE. As I expected, I throughly enjoyed the movie. No surprise there, because I'm a big Johnny Cash fan. Now, a year ago I was not a big Joaquin Pheonix fan. I said here in this blog that I had to change that opinion when I saw the teasers of the movie, and realized that Joaquin not only can act, but could really pull off playing the country music legend.

And now, I am really disappointed he didn't win the Oscar.

But I am thrilled that Reese won. I've been on the fence about what I think of her, but she really nailed the part of June Carter. NAILED IT!

F&$# Plotting

So my desk is covered with index cards each of which depict a scene (or potential scene) in my novel. It's a mess, albeit, a somewhat organized mess. But it's not getting me closer to writing. So ... I am just going to kee writing scenes. I think perhaps the rewrite is when I get the order right. Maybe...

Damn Cold

I managed to catch myself a cold this weekend. Or some kind of mini-flu. Mainly sinuses. All my good flus begin with a sinus thing, so I am worried. And I can't take a sick day because I am in a Java class that my company graciously shelled out for on my behalf. So I am going to try and catch some more sleep tonight.

It's only Monday night, and I'm already Friday tired.
