20 Years Ago Let's see ... 1986. I was 22, almost 23, in college, and dating the woman who would become my first ex-fiancee.

10 Years Ago Okay, 1996. My son was born in February, and I skipped my fifteen year high school reunion. I was working for Apple computer, and I was doing taxes at night for H&R Block. Still adjusting to being a husband and a father. Lots of changes in a short time. Gave up Line Dancing and Bimbo Chasing and decided to start doing some serious writing. Started the novel I am still working on today, although it's gone through so many changes, it's almost a different book.

5 Years Ago Working for Schwab for one year. Still there. Living in Tracy, California in our first home. Hard job, long hours, very ugly commute. I'm tired most of the time, but getting used to it. My life was complete, finally. My son turned five, started kindergarten, so much a little boy, so much a young man, and so much like me it scared the crap out of me. Still does.

1 Year Ago Living in our new/old house in Tracy, only blocks from our first house. It's a bigger house, a dream house. Still at the same job. Still writing the same novel, but it was vastly improved. My son has somehow inherited most of my own annoying qualities, including being a picky eater, but I love him more than life. Still married to the same woman. Ben and I started taking Taekwondo. Huh ... thinking about it ... my life has fewer changes as years go by. Does that mean I am settled? I don't feel settled. What I feel is older. And tired. But happy.

1 Month Ago April? During Tax Season, Mary works weekends in San Mateo, so Ben and I "bach" it while she's gone. This seaon, he and I spent a lot of quality time together. He asks me all sorts of questions now. I don't know how to answer all of them. Same job, same commute, same novel. I'm a purple belt. I'm learning to play the guitar. Life is good, but moving too fast.

Yesterday Trying to get (most of) my novel completed before Bouchercon, so I can actually talk seriously with agents. Hoping to finish and submit some stories, and start collecting rejection slips. Working, commuting, training (Taekwondo), and playing (guitar), and writing, and learning, and raising my son.

Tomorrow Another day...

I'm not sure who I can tag who hasn't been tagged, but feel free.
