QUOTE OF THE DAY:

from THE WHITE ROAD by John Connolly (page 148)

"He's 130 pounds of attitude with a mouth at one end and an asshole at the other, and most of the time I can't tell which end is which."

***

First of all, I want to say that the coolest thing (perhaps the only cool thing) about last night's show was this. When Brooke called Patrice's name, I said "WHAT?" at the eact time Storm said it. In unsion.

I couldn't believe Patrice was even flirting with Bottom 3. Or that Zayra escaped. It must have been very close, that's all I can say.

Another cool thing was seeing Ryan get the encore, but did anyone else feel like the other rockers weren;t happy with that? I liked that he tried to encourage Lukas, telling him he brought it all in his first four performances.

And I liked that Lukas was humbled, and admitted he had a bad night. I expect he'll redeem himself next week and reclaim his front runner position.

Moving along. I was very surprised that Patrice or Dana spent anytime at all in the Bottom 3. Also surprised that Toby or Lukas didn't end up there. And more "surprises" are in store, because as rockers are dismissed, it becomes harder to sruvive, and that chance that someone I like leaves becomes more likely.

Jill's performance of Alone was jusy awesome, and showed her self-described "richer tones." And the band stood up to applaud her. That was nice for Jill, but bad for Dana and Patrice.

I told Ben (son) that I didn't like it, because I really didn't want to see any of them go, and had trouble picking from them. I like all three. Ben agreed.

Dana did a kick-ass job on House Of The Rising Sun, which was popular long before she was even born, and she should get some credit for that, I think. Also, I liked her new tattoo. Patrice did a song called Eternal Life which I didn't know, but it was a good song and she did it very well. But I sensed trepidation from both of them. They were both nervous. So was I.

No shock that Jill saved herself. So it was down to two rockers to face the Hatchet Man. Ben asked who it would be, and I said I had no idea. And then Dana was dismissed. I liked her attitude, though. She's one of the most mature and positive rockers in the competition, and I expect we will hear from her again, in a big way. And I am definitely looking forward to that.

Next week ... the rockers have to write a melody and lyrics. Should be very interesting. Very.
