Tax Season 2007 officially ended today when Mary got home. She won't be working weekends anymore, so we'll be a family on weekends again. Well ... soon.

She leaves in one week for Florida to be with her Father for a while. He may be coming out here to live with us. Which will be good. That means Ben and I will "bach it" for a while longer.

RAT UPDATE: The elusive uninvited houseguest has not turned up in any of the traps set last week. These are glue paper traps. Everett the Exterminator came by to check and said we'll give him a bit more time. He's either laying low, or he's moved to better digs. Though, what could be better than an unfinished, unused laundry chute?

We have a friend who worries about the inhumanity of rat traps, and believes we can and should find a way to capture "Rat" and turn him loose in the wild. I wonder. The glue paper seems humane enough, although "Rat" will spend the last minutes of his life with his feet stuck in cement waiting for what he must know is inevitable death. Maybe it's better for the rat to be snuffed immediately.

CAT UPDATE: Cosmo (the dumb one) always has to taste each of the four food bowls. Never mind that they all contain THE SAME FOOD. I usually try to sequester Willow (the Queen) with her bowl, because being a lady she likes to take her time and enjoy alone time while eating. And one of the boys usually bothers her.

This no longer works. No matter where I put Willow, Cosmo seeks her out, and eats from her bowl. The SAME FOOD. Must taste better to him somehow.

By the way, Cosmo is Willow's son. What relevance that fact bears, I know not.
