The HUEY LEWIS AND THE NEWS concert was almost two weeks ago, and I'm only just getting around to writing about it. That's how crazy my life is now.

Most of the original members are still with the band. Sean Hopper on keyboards, Bill Gibson on drums, Johnny Colla on guitar and sax. The new guitarist, Stef Burns really rocks. And the line-up now features a phenomenal horn section. I didn't get all the names.

Even those not familiar with the band found a few songs that got them dancing. "Hey, I know this one!"

I wonder how many people recall that the 49ers (of the 80's: Joe, Dwight, etc.) sang on HIP TO BE SQUARE.

The surprise of the evening was a duet -- CRUISIN -- which Huey sang with Bill Gibson's daughter, Olivia, who's a teenager, and (as Huey said) has a voice like an angel. WOW!

PLAY LIST:
  • Heart Of Rock and Roll
  • "new song"
  • I Want A New Drug
  • Small World
  • If This Is It
  • Power Of Love
  • (new) On The Express(?)
  • Jacob's Ladder
  • Hip To Be Square
  • Bad Is Bad (a capella)
  • new "beach" song
  • Cruisin
  • Heart And Soul
  • It's All Right
  • Here For A Good Time
  • Walkin On A Thin Line
  • Back In Time
  • Do You Believe In Love
  • Workin For a Living
