I have no excuse for not blogging on a more regular basis. There are people who are kind enough to check in, and most of the time there isn't a new entry.

I'm in my third week of non-employment. I really ought to have more time on my hands. But, as they say, man plans, and God laughs.

The funny thing is, I'm pretty busy. I get up in the morning and get Ben ready for school. Then I do a run and exercise. After my shower and shave, I watch the financial news, check Email, and then browse for jobs.

Then, lunch.

I've been able to catch up with a few friends that I haven't seen in ages. I've gotten more reading done. Started playing chess again. Last game, I beat Level 3 on my Excalibur. I feel relaxed. But I miss my old job.

I've been tossing around ideas about a career shift. Doing something else until the IT industry gets better. I've thought about learning some new skills, working on .Net and Java, but I'm not sure I can learn enough to qualify me for a job doing it. I feel like I haven't done enough with the time. And yet, I've been really busy.

Next week, I'm going in for some minor surgery, which my have me off my feet for a week or so. That ought to give me time to write.

And hopefully, be able to write some interesting blog entries.
