Seems to be a new recurring theme. Opportunities in California have gone from shrinking to danm near non-existent. I've been told by more than one advisor that the few mainframe jobs that remain in the U.S. are not in California. Everything is being moved to Phoenix, Denver, and Austin.

I saw this coming. Even if I hadn't been laid off, there's a good chance I would soon be asked to move to one of the three target cities. Most likely, Denver.

It's not too terrible a thing. Almost everyone I know who has moved to Denver is happy there.
