I have to say that I do love Christmas, from a purely secular perspective. I don't believe in any of the religious stuff that goes along with it, but I celebrate it because it's fun. And I think that's perfectly ok.

But when did Christmas start the day after Halloween? I remember it starting the day after Thanksgiving, and while early - it was acceptable. But the day after Halloween? Just more time to buy Christmas presents that we've been made to feel like we have to buy for every one of our aquaintances! After all, the day after Halloween there are only 54 more shopping days until Christmas! I enjoy buying gifts for people I love. But I hate being made to feel like I have to buy something for everyone I know.

I bring this up because we went to Disneyland last night. Since Marcelo's been working every weekend for the last month, we haven't been in over a month. All of the Christmas decorations are already up. They're already selling all the Christmas themed souveneirs. You're probably wondering what I'm thinking in hoping that a consumer driven place like Disneyland wouldn't already be cashing in on Christmas. Oh well... I guess I just hoped it wouldn't start this early.
