I used to be an avid movie-goer. I never missed new releases. Then last week I found myself trying to figure out the last movie I'd seen in the theatre. I finally realized the last time I'd seen a new release was Spiderman 2 which was released in June of last year. And I didn't actually get to see it in a theatre - we had to go to the drivethru so Marc wouldn't bother anyone during the movie.

Well, I finally got to see another new release. In a real theatre. With no child in sight. Pure luxury. :) Last night we dropped Marc off with the grandparents (who were more than happy to babysit) and went to see Phantom of the Opera. I was a little worried that, like many adapted works, it wouldn't be as good as the original. But it was great. Beautiful music of course. I've never been much of a fan of Minnie Driver, but she was perfect as Carlotta.

Hopefully it won't be another 7 months before I get to see a new movie!
