adventures in potty training (or not)

I decided awhile ago that I'm not going to push the potty training issue. We bought a potty for Marc when he seemed interested a few months ago, but he thought it was a toy so we haven't pressed it. I've been in a stall in a public bathroom next to a mom and her kid and overheard the following conversation too many times:

kid: "I'm all done"
mom: "Are you sure? Do you want to sit there for a few more minutes and see if you can go some more?"
kid: "No"
mom: "Well, let's just give it another minute..."

I'm soooo not looking forward to that.

So last week, Marc was in the bath. And it kind of seemed like maybe he had to go, but I ignored it. Then I saw poop in the bath. I yanked him out and put him on the potty. He actually sat there and went! When I thought he was done, I made a big deal about letting him flush it down the toilet (he loves flushing the toilet). That is, until he went some more on the floor...

Then, last night I put him in the bath again. He sits down, then stands back up and tells me he has to go potty. I pulled him out and put him on the potty and he actually peed! I was so proud. :)

I don't think it's a sign that he's going to be fully trained anytime soon, but it's a good start! And he's only 25 months old, so it's pretty good I think. I know most people reading this aren't going to get it at best and get grossed out at worst. But I'm a proud Mommy!
