Bush has had yet another fabulous idea. Instead of filling the Chief Justice position with a judge with experience on the Supreme Court, he's decided to nominate someone who will carry on Bush's conservative ideals well after he's gone. Isn't getting to fill 2 positions, one of which is Chief Justice, enough?

I read this quote on cnn.com and it's quite frightening when you read it knowing Bush's track record:

"It is fitting that a great chief justice be followed in office by a person who shared his deep reverence for the Constitution, his profound respect for the Supreme Court and his complete devotion to the cause of justice," Bush said from the White House, with the judge by his side.

Let's translate.

"great chief justice": one who made the Supreme Court more conservative.
"shared his deep reverence for the Constitution": shares his conservative interpretation of the Constitution
