Club 33

Friday night we got to go to Club 33! My sister-in-law works for BofA and they have a membership that employees are allowed to use (BofA was one of the original investors in Disneyland). If you've never heard of Club 33, it's a private members-only restaurant inside Disneyland and getting in is like the holy grail of experiences for Disney geeks. Even the lowest membership is something like $5000/year + $1500/month. Mostly corporations have them.

Anyway, we had an 8:00 reservation. It's really cool inside - all the artwork is Disney stuff. Pictures of Walt, concept art for the attractions, etc. Dinner took forever. Of the 4 of us, I was the only one that didn't order the prix fixe 5 course meal. Since I only ordered 3 courses (appetizer, entree, and dessert) I had to wait while the others were served their other courses. When it was 10:00 and I still had only had my salad I started getting kind of cranky so Marcelo went and talked up the whole "my wife is really pregnant and really hungry" thing and we got our dinner right away. lol Even though it took forever, dinner was really yummy and we ended up shutting the place down.

It was 11:30 by the time we got out of there and Disneyland had closed at 10. We got personally escorted to the exit by one of the waiters. That was actually the coolest part of the whole experience - being in the park with no one else there. All the lights and soundtracks were still on, everything had been cleaned up and put away. We had the place all to ourselves and it was just a really weird feeling. :)
