When I took Alex upstairs to put him down for his nap, our big orange cat was sleeping on the bed. Alex lay down next to him and showed him his finger. "Look, Byron, I got band-aid! Look, Byron, I got band-aid!" and over and over until I realized that he was doing what he does when he's looking for a "Yes, look what you've got!" or something like that. So I told him that Byron can't talk. Then Alex started meowing at him. LOL

After he'd had his fill of kitty speak, he laid his head on Byron and told me "I love Byron." Then he climbed over to me, wrapped his arms around me and started patting my back and singing Rockabye Baby and then fell asleep himself.

It was just the sweetest thing. :)

*NOTE: The band-aid on his finger is from last night when Marcelo closed the door at day care on Alex's finger and then for some reason brought him home, bleeding and crying, for me to perform first aid on. I don't know what I'd do if either of them ever got seriously injured. I don't do blood well. Stomach flu and throwing up all over me? No problem. But blood is another story - it seriously freaks me out. It ended up taking both of us to do it though. One of us had to keep him from clenching his hand closed and the other one had to clean it and put the band aid on.
