My baby started kindergarten today. They weren't able to do orientation before school started because of construction so it was today. We met his new teacher. She's been teaching at the school for 17 years and has spent her entire teaching career within our school district. She seems very nice and good with the kids.

I'm very lucky to be working at home right now because that means that I was able to sign up to be a classroom volunteer on Thursdays. :) That was one of my big motivations in taking this job. I remember when I was in kindergarten how proud I was when one of my parents came in to help.

I've already had one good cry this morning. I know he's way ready for kindergarten and very excited about going. I just can't believe that my baby is in school now. It was so strange being in a classroom as the parent.

As we walked to school this morning, I held his soft little hand and I knew it was a moment I'd always remember and treasure. He's really a big kid now, not just my baby.
