Misfits Thanksgiving

A couple of weeks ago, Jenn and I put together plans of a Misfit Thanksgiving. Where we have people over who don't have family in there area, etc, so no one has to be alone on Thanksgiving.

Our list of guests was short, but they were strategy gamers (Ken and Adam), so all the better. We originally planned to make it really informal... maybe get some pre-cut turkey and make sandwiches etc, but little by little we added something to the mix until we found ourselves making a huge Thanksgiving dinner. We cooked a turkey, made stuffing (StoveTop still counts!), mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, etc.. We bought way too much food, but that was ok, because I figured it's better to have too much food on Thanksgiving than not enough. It's also a learning experience for next year so we know how much to buy. I tried to help with food preparations, but Jenn was the real master behind the food. I did some of the dirty work, like cleaning out the turkey and whatnot, but she pretty much did _everything_ else. She's amazing. Jenn will say the turkey was too dry, but she's just plain wrong. :)

We had great food, played some Settler's and 2 games of Carcasonne... and I actually won a game of Carcasonne! woo! We talked about a lot of fun stuff, listened to some good music and I eventually fell asleep on the couch around 10. The rest were still sitting around talking and in one of my moments of waking they told me to head off to bed because I was snoring.

Didn't have to tell me twice...
