Why The New Yorker's cover is bad
The New Yorker published an issue with a satirical cover depicting Obama as an Islamic terrorist.
A lot of people are saying a lot of things about this and how wrong it is.... but most of them are missing the real point. Free speech is free speech... that's fine. This, however, is just completely irresponsible journalism. They KNOW that even though they say it is satire it is going to reinforce the rumors that Obama is Muslim and will encourage false information.
The have the right to satire, however, this cover is irresponsible.
