I have this huge, badass climbing tree for Artemis, but the new space we have it in is causing her some problems. Jumping down from one level to the next is kind of rough, she's landing pretty hard. She's getting older, so I decided to make an addition to her cat tree to avoid her hurting herself.

This is the original badass tree:

I made a quick sketch of my plan. I wanted to add a small platform below and behind the top green platform, then a ramp that led down behind the tree to a middle platform. I'd add another ramp at 90 degrees from that middle platform to a third lower platform which would be below the original bottom platform.

I had this small cat tree out in the garage. We don't have room for it in the house, so I was going to Craigslist it. Instead I cannibalized it for its carpet.

I also had an old office carpet in the garage, so I cut a few strips out of that to use on the straight ramps:
