As mentioned previously, I'm backcoding all my panoramas with location information. It's quite tedious to locate all their shooting points on a map and then copy and paste latitude and longitude into the database for use with Google Earth. It has to be done only once, fortunately, but for future use I've decided to invest in a Garmin GPSMap 60CSx handheld GPS unit. It'll arrive in a couple of days.

With this, I simply click a button and record where I shot the panorama, then upload the data into my computer or, indeed, directly into Google Earth's system. I foresee this being very convenient for all my panorama shooting in the future, as well as for any number of other needs, such as getting driving, hiking, or cycling directions, marking any particular point of interest while traveling, looking up tide tables for the local beach, etc., etc.

This particular model includes especially sensitive chips for fast and accurate location data, even with limited sky sight as when under trees or in canyons (and other places that typically make the best panoramas). We also own stock in Garmin and I look forward to learning to use this thing and plan to take it to Iceland and confirm the great reviews it's received.
