Santa's lesson this year: Be careful what you wish for!
He and his pals joined forces this year to hack my Amazon wishlist in half, in one fell swoop. As a result, I have 17 new books to read, with a total of about 5288 pages (this is the actual contents, not indices, etc.). So, if you don't see me as often in WoW-land over the next year or two, this will be one of the reasons why!
These books range in subject from dedicated treatments of glass, spices, and flour to medieval warfare and everyday life to science fiction and counterfactual history to objectivism to academic archaeology. There's also a book on the computer language Python not counted in the above totals.
I haven't had a reading like this in... a long time.
