On Sunday I was again pining the loss of my good camera, for the sun played brilliantly upon the ice-coated trees, turning them to crystal as far as the eye could see.

These poor attempts to capture the beauty simply do it injustice, and I fervently hope this phenomenon appears again next year.

A huge maple tree in the yard here, bejewelled in the morning sunlight.

Other nearby trees all decked out and nowhere to go.

Perhaps my best attempt at catching the sparklies.

The sun setting over the valley; it's almost possible to make out the glittering frosting on the trees on the far hill.
