Some wildlife today: a gopher and a baby hummingbird!

Sparky found one of those little pesties in our yard; we'ven't seen any for quite a while, but of course they showed up in the front yard recently now that we're trying to sell the house, and now they sent one around the flank to the backyard. But he didn't last long: Sparky found him out, dug him up, and terminated him.

Shortly after, Shelley found a juvenile hummingbird that apparently fell out of its nest. She built it temporary living quarters (a plastic pot - filled with tissues - nailed to the side of the tree). We watched the mother come and feed it, and we had to put the baby back into the pot after it fell out. Not sure how long that arrangement will last.

Sparky earns her keep.

Lip-smackin' good!
