Kansas: State of Wind

Good grief, we had a tough drive today. A few days earlier, according to the news, severe storms battered the center part of the country. We saw no signs of them, but we had vicious winds through the entire state, from Colorado Springs to Independence, Missouri, where we spent the night.

Had this drive been a flight, I'd have said it was the most turbulent plane ride ever. Our car felt like a plane in bad weather, shaking and veering, and constantly jinking. The motion made for difficult reading for me, when not driving. Twice we had scares with particularly nasty gusts.

Thankfully the cats settled down yesterday and the yowling has ended. Nimitz hasn't wet his cage again, and we're all in the routine now. Only a couple more days to go.

Kelley decides to try her hand at coloring: she finally got a little tired of DVDs apparently.
