Woo. Promotion. Of sorts.

Our senior developer is leaving soon, we just found out yesterday, so not only do I get to do some of his work on top of my own, I also become designated as "key personnel" and get to carry around a Cornell-paid-for cell phone that can work as an Internet access point tether for a laptop.

I'm oh so overjoyed by that prospect. And a little afraid of anything breaking because I'm not familiar enough yet with everything here to be able to fix things if an emergency happens and I'm the one who gets the middle-of-the-night phone call to fix an overwhelmed web site or server.

Yikes.

(No, the new phone won't be an iPhone: they don't tether. They *can*, but Apple killed an independently created application that let them.)
