Today, I went out to lunch with my friend Carl. It was pleasant. I hadn't spent much time haranguing him lately. Got a lot accomplished in that area.

I did something unusually girly and ordered a salad for lunch. I looked at all of the women around me and felt secure in my femininity because they, too, had ordered salads. But upon closer inspection, I realized that I had failed to attain chickdom yet again, because they had all ordered a different salad than I.

Here is the menu description of what I ordered: Spicy grilled chicken on mixed field greens with tortilla strips, feta cheese and roma tomatoes. With a sesame ginger vinaigrette.

Here is the menu description of what the REAL women ordered: Tender grilled ruby trout, spicy walnuts and goat cheese on greens tossed in a sundried tomato basil vinaigrette.

Both have strong cheeses, greens, and lean meat. Why did I order one and the 10 other women around me order the other? Just seemed odd to me.
