We had a lovely weekend with Kirsten and Aaron, who graciously drove out to visit us. Yay! There was much conversation and feasting, and we saw two movies. I think that increases by 200% the number of movies I'd seen so far in 2003.

The two movies we saw were The Hours and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. "The Hours" was well-acted, but the direction was heavy-handed. I've also never quite been fond of stories about the "angst" of the idle and/or privileged. "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" is about the life of "Gong Show" creator Chuck Barris. Quirky and diverting.
