From the front of the classroom, I got to observe a student using salt and pepper shakers as the Moon and Earth during the first exam of the semester. He had studied the previous night in a restaurant and, well, the rest is obvious.

I also noted that my young Muslim student was wearing her traditional veil with a "Social Distortion" sweatshirt. I also witnessed the fleeting look of dismay on a student's face who walked into the exam late...he wasn't so much disturbed about being late as surprised about the exam. And I saw how embarrassed a young woman was that her ridiculously large shoes made such loud noises on the way down the stairs to turn in her exam.

I like sitting in the front of the classroom.
