I'm once again writing a journal entry while my poor astronomy lab students are working furiously on a final exam. Let's face it, at this point in the semester, this is my only "free" time.

Random thoughts:

• Only 20% of this lab section is female. That's really low for an astronomy lab.
• My vote for best typo of the semester - a student wrote tempter instead of temperature, so I read an essay on "cold tempters". I want to be a cold tempter. It sounds fun.
• After showing pretty images during my afternoon lecture today, I asked if there were any more questions. A student asked, "Will you show us Star Wars?" So, as the class was filing out of the room, I played the Episode III teaser trailer. Half the class stood motionless and watched.
• I love the end of the semester.
