blast.... and blast again

Saturday was pretty quiet. We rested a bit and did a few things around the house that needed to be taken care of, e.g. mowing the backyard. I was feeling pretty decent that evening so I fried a bunch of chicken. It was fabulous. After dinner, our neighbor, Amy, came by bearing baby gifts, including a pastel colored cow. Later that evening, Sandra and Lacy stopped by. Lacy (who wants no children :)) held LD all evening. They ate some fried chicken and hung out until they couldn't keep their eyes open any more.

That night, I did a quick rewrite on one section of "El Remedio" and thought I submitted it to a market. Today I found that the e-mail was never sent. AHHHH! Blast! Yesterday was the deadline. I'm so annoyed. I've had some interesting experiences with this new e-mail program I'm using, and it's not making me terribly happy. Blast again! I really didn't expect the market to accept the story, but I've been wanting to get back into the writing thing a bit more, sort of feel like I'm making some progress somewhere, just even a little bit, so that kind of nixed it there. I'll just submit it elsewhere today.

Yesterday, I took LD home to meet my parents and grandma and aunts. Most of what I heard yesterday was, "He's SOOO cute." Well, I can't argue with that. My step-mother also pointed out that while most babies are cute, not all babies are pretty. LD, in her opinion, is pretty. I'd have to agree.

It was really nice seeing my family; I wish I could see them more often.

I'm pretty tired today, though. We all are. I think I tried to do too much too fast and it's wearing me down. As for Rice and Avadore, I think they've caught a little something. So, it seems like a good day to be quiet.

Maybe I might even get a little writing done.

Wait, Avadore just crawled into my lap. Maybe I will later.
