laminate

I was just researching laminate. We've never had it before, and now we have laminate flooring in our living room and main hallway. I've had to figure out how to clean it correctly, yadda, yadda.

Evidently, it's quite likely that what looks like wood flooring in my house is actually a picture of wood flooring. My floor is a simulation. (I already knew this, I just didn't realize how much of a simulation it was.)

At what point is it hyperreal, and are we already working on my house being one of the phases of simulacra?

Rice tells me he doesn't get me.

This, of course, isn't new. Very few people get me.

Of course, my life being hyperreal and full of simulacra isn't anything new -- I live in the 21st century, but evidently it's odd to look at one's flooring and think of PKD or Umberto Eco.

My husband tells me so. Obviously he must be right.
