solution

I don't think I told you all my temporary solution to the writers' strike.

I totally think we should import British TV. I mean, we have done this to a certain extent, e.g. A&E and PBS, but let's go whole hog. Seriously, would you not love to watch Dr. Who on ABC? True, we have taken versions of their shows, e.g. The Office and made them our own, but let's just borrow them all the way. I mean, wouldn't you love several weeks of Pride and Prejudice on Thursday nights? And I know Masterpiece Theater presented the aforementioned Jane Eyre, but the rest of the public needs to see it. And what this would do for bookstores! I mean, our local B&N could start selling out of Bronte and Austen.

And they could show Sherlock on Monday nights, like A&E used to. That would be fabulous.

And whilst I'm having my own little fantasy here, for hosts we should have Jarvis Cocker and Neil Gaiman and The Goff Detectives and...
