tomorrow is

Thanksgiving, at my house.

Today I have:

-Baked three large pies and four small ones
All pumpkin -- one regular, one gluten-free with an almond meal crust, one cinnamon free (the SIL is allergic to cinnamon -- how sad is THAT?), and four wee ones sans crust because something had to be done with the leftover filling, and then I can skip the crust
-Baked one loaf of GF bread for stuffing
-Made one batch of veggie GF stuffing, saying BAH! at the original recipe and adding a whole kaboodle of stuff, like walnut oil, flax meal, thyme, sage, salt, pepper, sherry, and pine nuts to the original recipe
- Made two batches of yams, one cinnamon-free, one with a special cinnamon spice mix
- Brined a turkey for the meat eaters
- Watched YouTube with Winter (David Bowie, primarily) and then watched some BBC classic stuff. (I <3 technology. I <3 the laptop.)
- Meditated while humming Kate Bush to myself.

Tomorrow I have to:

- Make potatoes and gravy (Bah, easy!)
- Finish prepping and roast a turkey
- Decide what sort of topping the yams get ("carmelized" apples, or a carmelized brown sugar top? The apples will probably win for diet reasons) and make it
- Plop cranberries out of a can (whoo!)
- Make a relish tray with celery stuffed with creamy-creamy-cream cheese, carrots, olives, and special sweet pickles that get their sweet from not sugar
- Make a creamy, creamy, desserty-type salad
- Make butter
- Plop rolls out of a bag, made by the SIL's uncle (thanks Spots!)
- Warm up stuffing
- Whip cream from the dairy
- Maybe make a green salad... no green veggies, other than celery, and my aesthetic sensibilities are concerned
- Make a lovely spinach casserole if there's time
- Do a bit of cleaning
- Play Ziggy Stardust on the Spot's Guitar Hero game
- Listen to music whilst cooking that no one else likes, but I'm the primary cook and it's my kitchen and my laptop and my personal happy device, so bah!
- Drink Lime LaCroix
- Consider how Thanksgiving isn't quite the same without an X-Files marathon, or MST3K (We are all aware that the second X-Files film begins production the 10th of December? Just sayin...), and wonder what one can do about that...
- Make sure I balance this carb-laden meal with plenty of protein (I did buy fancy cheese for the special occasion... and I have lovely mixed nuts... and edamame...)
- Enlist familial help
