This one is for TheCalifornian, who needs to come visit my new kitchen.

The weather feels like fall, and my house smells like fall. If you looked out the window you'd expect to see red and gold leaves dropping to the ground, not white blossoms and green leaves. Tonight I made a lentil and butternut squash stew to serve over brown rice. The flavors of orange and cinnamon are subtle underneath the spiciness of the dish, but definitely there, definitely infusing the entire upstairs of my house. The salad I made wasn't too bad, either.

Going to watch Jackson's King Kong with the kids now. Have I ever mentioned the original is one of my most favorite films from my childhood? I'm trying to spend lots of time with the kids, and King Kong seemed like a good way to do it tonight.
