Life as it is

I am sitting here with my mind all a jumble.
Nothing new with that..hmm
I am a little frazzled, no real reason.

Yet I think empty nest syndrome is kicking up.
I spent the evening with MC, Big D, Turtle, and my Hubby
When they left, the house seemed quiet.
Me and hubby..I love him..just sometimes it's too quiet.

MC and her hubby,Big D make us laugh till we cry.
It's nice to see them together.
Of course our littlest grand baby, Turtle, is a hoot.
He is babbling up a storm and likes to grab your face.

Look I'm blessed and I know it.
I got to be a stay at home Mom,I have been very lucky.
I have made my children my priority. I became a professional Mommy. No regrets putting my 3 babies first.
Room Mom, volunteered for 16 years at their schools.
PB & J's and lunchboxes, field trips. Yeah I lost myself in the shuffle but, I'll find myself again

Grade school. Middle school. High school. Graduation.

College.

When they leave for college they don't just take their
clothes. They take their lives, their friends. The house gets quiet. No teens in and out. No phones ringing off the hook. No lazy summers and pool parties, boyfriends, sleep overs.

It all changes for everyone.

My hubby and I do things together and you finally get to reconnect. No children to distract us. I wondered how it would be because you lose touch when your raising kids.
Things are discussed over dinner tables and on drives to school or karate lessons. Yet here we are in each other's company and we talk with no one between us. It's nice, kinda like dating again.

Still there is moments when we miss the kids and all
the noise. All the things you use to say drove you crazy and you couldn't wait for them to grow up.
Who really knew just how precious those moments were and you'd love to rewind it and do it again.
I am NOT depressed, maybe just nostalgic, savouring the memories.

Professional Mom that's me.

How about a PB & J and some milk ?

Did you finish your homework?

LOL
