Well, we made it to Youngstown and back with virtually no incident - except, of course, the torrential downpour, thunderstorm, and tornado warning we drove through outside of Cleveland . . . I must say, the driver with the seventeen-year-old eyes seemed to have fared better than the driver whose eyes are forty-six . . . I keep trying to remind myself that what Charlie may lack in experience as a driver (and that's not much; he's a careful driver), he more than makes up for in reflexes and eyesight and strength and energy . . .

The car ran flawlessly on the way home. (Peter, I have no idea what kind of engine it has but I'll ask my father-in-law.)

Everyone was looking pretty good at The House. Uncle Joe and Uncle Carl have apparently acquired a new riding mower, which apparently hasn't started in the past eight years. The guy wanted $50 for it but they talked him down to $35 . . . and (if you're related or you've been following along, you know what happens next) - of course, when they got it home, Uncle Joe decided to check the starter, so he hooked an external battery up past where the starter connects, and when they tried to start the thing, it sprang to life immediately . . . Stay tuned for the saga of where they end up getting a starter . . . or maybe Uncle Joe is going to fix the starter . . .
