So I weighed myself this morning, and learned that I've hit a New (recent) Low, yay! To celebrate, I wore a short skirt for the first time in years. Also, I put on my full-length boots, which I bought in December and have worn practically every day since. Emil opined that I looked like Nancy Sinatra . . . which means, of course, that I now have that song going through my head . . . so I thought I'd reproduce the lyrics (courtesy of Lyrics Box) here for you, so you, too, can catch this particular 'uehr woerm':

These Boots Were Made For Walkin'
by Nancy Sinatra

You keep saying you've got something for me.
something you call love, but confess.
You've been a messin' where you shouldn't have been a messin'
and now someone else is gettin' all your best.

These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

You keep lying, when you oughta be truthin'
and you keep losin' when you oughta not bet.
You keep samin' when you oughta be a changin'.
Now what's right is right, but you ain't been right yet.

These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

You keep playin' where you shouldn't be a playin
and you keep thinkin' that you´ll never get burnt.
Ha!
I just found me a brand new box of matches yeah
and what he knows you ain't HAD time to learn.

These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

Are you ready boots? Start walkin'!

I always hated that song.

In other news, the drive in today was extremely pleasant. It's a pretty typical sunny March day; the sky looks wonderful but the ground is scraggly and brown and muddy, with patches of snow here and there. I was noticing how much nicer it was to be driving through farmland than through the suburbs (Ypsilanti, Bellville, Rawsonville) leading to Dearborn . . . the Detroit metro area (and probably big cities in general) look really awful this time of year. So even though my commute is much longer than it used to be, it's also a lot more pleasant.

The pavement looked so-oooo inviting! Wish I could get out for a bike ride, but I really have to hunker down and grade . . . Ah, well, in five and a half more weeks, I'll start seeing some bike riding time . . .

And . . . I tried to update my version of Firefox yesterday, which generated some sort of error. Firefox now won't start at all; when I click the icon, I get a message telling me that Firefox is already running, and to close it before I continue. I tried uninstalling it (so I could then reinstall it), but I get the same message. So I'm stuck with IE today. Yuck.

If anyone has ideas about how I can deal with Firefox, I'd love to hear 'em, because I hate IE . . .
