According to Yahoo News, Dr. David Johnson, chief of oncology and hematology at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, had this to say about Peter Jennings' cancer diagnosis and his decision to continue work: "I think it sets the right example," Johnson said. "I think it says you shouldn't stop your life if you have cancer. It may take your life, but you shouldn't let it control your life."

Excuse me??? Has anyone stopped to notice that cancer treatment involves [a] being poisoned (as in chemo) and [b] burned (as in radiation)? Should, maybe, the right example be that you stop everything nonessential, concentrate on rest, good nutrition, family, friends, healing, and hope for the best? Strive maybe for spirituality and connectedness in life rather than WORKING MORE???

What a pathetic excuse for a society we live in!
