Okay, well. The novelty (such as it is) of having a broken toe has definitely worn off, as has the local anaesthetic from yesterday . . . My toe hurts today, and I am tired from the painkillers and I have a yucky taste in my mouth, and my left thigh is sore from doing all the heavy lifting, my shoulders are sore from the crutches, and my right shin is sore from the stupid angle of this little bootie thing . . . I guess my problem is that I thought, based on how I felt yesterday, that I'd be feeling a lot better today. Ha!

Not much to be done about it, though. I'm just back from my Day's Outing (Emil and I went to get the oil changed in the Hyundai, our automatic transmission car, which will be my commuting car for a while, and then to the Recycling Center to see what they had - I scored a collection of short stories by Stephen Leacock, who has been a favorite since Inkshed in Orillia), and I think it's time to pop a Vicodin and sit with my foot in the air . . . At least the Red Wings are on tonight! (Two flights down, alas . . . )

The weather's crappy today, too, which doesn't help, but it's supposed to clear up a little tomorrow and then by Sunday it's supposed to be sunny and warm, so at least I'll be able to sit in the back yard with my foot up. I'm crossing my fingers . . .
