Well, the week has finished in a blur. We spent Thursday night at the Sparrow ER, then last night at the UM Hospitals ER. After the dust had settled, here's what we learned: Em has mono. At the moment, it's really knocking her for a loop.

I'm not sure that she needed to spend all that time in the ER . . . maybe if I'd known more about mono or we had a family doctor here with whom we had a history, it could have been avoided. I'm sure that all those trips added to her stress (people with mono are supposed to relax, not sit in waiting rooms all night), but given the options, I don't think there was much choice. I'm glad we know what's wrong with her and I'm glad we know to expect ups and downs.

I'm extremely tired and horribly behind in all my work, so I'll keep this short and hope I can get back to it soon . . .
