Well, I'm seriously behind in my Knitting Goals, although I am making progress. I only have one of Aunt Betty's socks done:

. . . but I can start the other one tonight and probably finish it on the way to Youngstown tomorrow. Or I'll finish it when I'm there . . . either way, it's all good.

I've also finished my first Moebius creation:

The ribbing on the edge was my addition, and it didn't work out too well because it tends to fold over . . . I can see why it's not generally used. I am not very happy with the color scheme, either; I added those green stripes but the variegated yarn would have been better all by itself, I think. Nonetheless, as a proof-of-concept piece, it's done its job; I now understand how patterning works with this type of knitting, and I have a better idea of what will look good.

Here's what it looks like when it's worn:

It's just a tad too small for me; it rather chokes the neck. But I really like its practicality; it's a snug-fitting hat and a cozy scarf. Emma thinks it looks ridiculous . . . It does make me look like a little old Polish lady, but hey. That's my destiny. There are more Moebius scarves in my future.

I had to go back to Threadbear for some more sock yarn, as I hadn't bought quite enough for Betty's socks. While I was there, I noticed this incredible stuff:

It comes in many colors - or, um, "colorways," as they're called now . . . The one up above is called Iris Blooms. But this is the stuff that really caught my imagination:

Poodle Skirt, it's called. I bought three skeins last night, and I went back today to get more, having decided that I want to knit a cardigan from it.

When I got back to the store, though, I discovered that they only had one more skein!! Curses!! I bought it, but that's not quite enough yarn for a cardigan; I'll be short by 50-100 yards. So now I'm trying to think of what I can do to create a pattern out of the Poodle Skirt and something else - probably white. White collar, cuffs, and button band? White sleeves? I called the store to ask if there's ANY more of that yarn ANYWHERE . . . but I'm not hopeful. So if anybody has an idea for mixing it with another color, let me know . . .
