Well, "sale" might be a little too strong at this point. But we have been given and have accepted an offer on our Summer Home . . . Granted, in real estate, there's many a slip 'twixt the cup and the lip. Nonetheless, the house is as sold as it is possible for a house to be at this early stage of the process. We have our fingers crossed and are trying not to get too excited.

However, the possibility that our finances could massively change for the better in one swell foop like that has practically made me giddy. I feel like my arms are being held up by helium balloons, or something - it's like being weightless. I think that both of us had somehow ceased to consider that selling the house was a possibility . . .

And of course, endless vistas of vacations are rolling through my head . . . not that we will be in a position to do anything fancy, but it seems clear, at least, that we will make it to Mackinac Island this summer, and possibly points north of there. (Yesterday I had lunch with two colleagues, and discussion turned to Marquette and NMU, where one of my companions had gotten his B.A. Reminded me that I love the U.P., and would sure like to go back . . . )

Anyhow, I better sign off here, lest I get quite carried away . . . Stay tuned for updates. And cross your fingers, too . . .
