Today Louise, Emil, and I went to Everlastings in the Woodlands, which, as I said, is quite a place. Here's a picture of Louise (think: Where's Waldo?) in one of the 4 greenhouses. (Sorry about the stripe on the left - it was a flaw in the processing. These images are scanned in from prints.)

The nursery occupies about 175 square acres of land. There's a spring somewhere on the land that they've used to make an extensive waterfall system, complete with fountains here and there. (My waterfall picture didn't turn out, alas. Next time.)

There are also paths leading everywhere, and wrought iron ornamental thisses and thats here and there.

The flowers were just gorgeous.

They even had cherubs.

What's not to like?

I also took some pics of my own garden. Here's the second peony bloom, looking a little blowsy here.

(And that right there's why I wanted an old school SLR . . . You can make the depth of field very shallow.)

I tried the close-up focus on the broccoli, too.

And finally, our wind chimes.

I got those years ago, I can't remember where. The entire time we lived in Ann Arbor, we never heard them once. Now that we've moved here, they chime practically every day . . .
