There has been some confusion regarding the picture of Emil's new wheels. Apparently the make of car can't really be identified. Well, it's a 2000 Miata, complete with the Nardi Torino upgrade package (which includes nice detailing on the dash, and a Bose sound system . . . ) It's a very sweet car to drive; I'm sure it makes those ten miles down the highway to Mason just fly by! :) (Sorry. Couldn't resist a little bout of "oh-my-gosh-we're-so-close-to-everything".)

Me, I took my bike on the Northern Tier to campus today - I went through Old Town, which I think will be a route that I enjoy more than the one I used last year. It feels shorter to me, although I'm not convinced that it actually could be. (I could get my odometer fixed and then I'd really know, I guess.) Tomorrow I'll take my camera so I can give you a feel for the ride. I'm determined to really ride all year this year, although I don't feel confident enough to give up my parking pass, which I could do and get $400 . . . but the facts that [a] all the roads leading to campus are torn up at some point, and [b] the first few weeks of the semester are a madhouse even when the roads are clear, are providing me with powerful incentive to pedal.
