I'm drowning in half-completed knitting projects at the moment. (These are colloquially referred to as UnFinished Objects - see subject line.) At the moment I have 4 big projects - 3 sweaters and an afghanette - on the needles. (Actually, 4 sweaters . . . but one only exists as a highly-froggable 1/2 sleeve at the moment; that's not enough of a commitment to count. I could abandon it with abandon.)

I've also got a kazillion things in the queue, as we say on Ravelry: Projects for which I've bought yarn, and which I do, eventually plan to make. Off the top of my head, I can think of another sweater, three pairs of socks, a shawl, a few hats . . . you see how it goes. (Yes, I have a lot of yarn hanging around.) Problem is, the longer the yarn sits without being knit into something, the less interesting it becomes. So this year I have resolved to knit down the stash, so that I once again experience the wonder of buying yarn and casting it on the very same day that I buy it. (Of course, I also think of the stash as kind of a savings account . . . whenever I retire and am living on a fixed income, yarn will no doubt be more expensive than it is now, so in a way, it's almost a wise investment to buy mass quantities when it's on sale . . . perhaps you can begin to appreciate why I'm not an accountant.)

At any rate, this weekend I have finished three projects, which makes me very happy. Two are for EB (which is the least I can do, since two of the unfinished sweaters - including the 1/2 sleeve - are for him. And the one that isn't the half-sleeve has been on the needles for . . . oh . . seven years? True story). First, I knocked off that scarf I started last week:

I think it's absolutely yummy. He better not leave it lying around, or I'm going to steal it.

I also finished up these socks:

Well, actually, I finished them for the second time; when I completed them last November he said that the cuffs were too tight, but I didn't know how to fix that until recently, when I learned the lace cast-off to finish Steph's shawl.

And I finished another pair of socks:

I'd started those in October, according to my Ravelry projects database entry.

I also got a great deal done on this vest for Emma:

It was supposed to be a Christmas present. When she saw it today, I realized that she had forgotten all about it . . .

I'm hoping to finish that this week some time. Maybe.

I also started another pair of socks for which I bought the yarn last year:

This is the same yarn that I used for EB's socks (Lana Grossa Meilenweit Multieffekt), but I think I like this colorway better.

All those items are for other people. When I get them done (and when I finish the seven-year sweater), I am going to make a pair of socks for myself in a pattern called Primavera, which I learned about on Franklin's blog. He's knitting them in Lorna's Laces violet, and I've gotta get me some of that . . . but for purposes of near-immediate gratification, I am planning to knit them out of this:

Hand-dyed sock yarn from Perchance to Knit.

With any luck, they'll be on the needles before Spring Break ends, and on my feet shortly thereafter . . .
