I've been coping with the end of semester here, and so I've mostly been working. But I did take time on Tuesday to go down to Ann Arbor for the Moscow Ballet production of the Nutcracker.

I was supposed to go with Emma and Dave, but Emma wasn't feeling well. So I called Diane very much at the last minute, and happily, she was able to juggle her (forever busy) schedule and go with me. We had a great time, and we had a good talk afterwards.

The production itself was the same as when we saw it a few years ago: Amazing dancing, but their interpretation made no narrative sense in the second act. But it was a sheer pleasure to see the ballet at the Michigan Theatre; the sets were beautifully done and the costumes were just a visual treat.

Other than that, not much to report. The semester's winding down, and I'll be glad to have a bit of a breather before I'm off to Chicago for the opera . . . I love this time of year. :)
