Putting it bluntly, "Bad Boys 2" was fun if for nothing else that director Michael Bay does shit to corpses and bad guys that I've never seen done. There is a level of violence in "Bad Boys 2" that I have not seen since the Freddy and or Jason movies of my youth. But the level of carnage in "BB2" is altogether more realistic, thusly all the more horrific, than any slasher movie that I've ever seen. You can pick any type of dismemberment, burning, head splattering, decapitation, bodies getting run over, cut apart corpses...pick any one you want, and you'll see it in this movie. Wanna see the top of a cadaver's head come off in the morgue? Watch this movie. Wanna see a drug dealer cut up and put into a barrell, only to have the blood drip onto the floor? Watch this movie. Wanna see a bullet rip through someone's head and spray blood all over the back of the wall? Watch this movie. This movie is cool if for nothing else than how gory it is.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are the only actors in this movie that desserve any kind of reviewing. Martin Lawrence is really good in his role as the straight man to the lunacy acting that is Will Smith. Maybe it's the roles that Will Smith takes, but he's never given off that credible "street vibe" that he strived to achieve in this role. Will Smith is a talented actor, but he just isn't tough. He's Will Smith. He's like a cuddly teddy bear. So when he plays tough, it's just that, "playing." He never really gives off the Sean Penn/Al Pacino tough man vibe. He always seems like the nice guy trying to play tough. Where as Martin Lawrence has the tough thing down pat. Martin Lawrence has always been an edgy comedian and actor, so it's no big shock to see him doing a "tough" movie like this.

The banter between Martin Lawrence and Will Smith is pretty funny at times, really offending most of the other time, and sometimes impossible to hear due to the explosions and bullets that fly through the air nearly every single frame of the movie.

Have I mentioned how violent this movie is?

There are some really funny scenes in this movie between Will and Martin though. There are moments that really steal the show and make the movie worth seeing I suppose. But this movie most of the time just suffers from the same problems that plagued "Charlies Angel's 2," in that it seems like the directors and writers were just piecing together set pieces to get the actors to the next big explosion filled chase scene.

I don't want to spend too much time on this review. This movie is just a summer movie. It's a Michael Bay movie for crying out loud. Stuff gets blown up. People die gruesome deaths. Lots of slow motion gun fights. The bad guys are cliche, ripped right from "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City." If that's what you're into, go see this movie. Just think, "Summer Movie," and you'll have this movie in a nutshell.
