This semester is mostly a BORING semester and one that will without a doubt be a struggle. However, there is one class that is a shining beacon of light that will keep me afloat from my books.

The breakdown is as follows:

Math 1400: Math 1400 is the Math right above College Algebra. For some god foresaken reason, the College of Arts and Sciences requires that their students take 2 maths; College Algebra and (one math above College Algebra). For a while, I was a Sociology major and they only required College Algebra. But now that I'm gladly an English major, they need that one extra math. So I'm taking this one.

I really HATE math. It's a subject that I'm going to have to stay on top of EVERY night or else I'm going under the water and not coming back up. So this should be a "fun" semester.

Phys. 1050: Astronomy. Not only does the College of Arts and Science require science, they require THREE science classes. One natural and one physical science and then one additional science in one or the other (phys. or natural). I took Geology last year so that's taken care of. I'm taking Astronomy this semester to finish the other science. One more after this semester and I'm done with my sciences. YAY!!!

While I'm on the subject, I hate that colleges have their students go overboard with these B.S. degrees. I am an English major...Why do I need to do anything above Algebra??? Why do I need to be proficient in one of the major sciences? I understand that a student needs to be well rounded and able to succeed in every area of academics, but I hate that they push it. I hate that they push it and make us go above and beyond. I'd MUCH rather take some more English classes so that I can actually become more proficient at my major area. Or I'd rather have open electives so that I could go take some other classes that I want to take. It's aggravating. Maybe I'll start a petition. :-)

Back to the subject at hand...

Sociology 2500: Sociology of Sport. This should be a fun class I think. Sociology is a subject area that I really like and I also like sports, so I'm really intruiged to see how the two combine. I think it'll probably be a relatively easy, yet interesting course. Not a bad combination.

And the fun course of the semester is

RTVF 3750: History of the Cinema post 1945: This is going to be a really fun course. As far as I can tell from the first day of class, all we do is watch movies and talk about them in class. I don't even need to elaborate on this one. It's going to be just straight up fun. The only challenging part will be an 8 page paper due towards the end of the year. Being a composition major, that shouldn't be no big deal.

GOD I'm STARVING!!!!!!!!!

can't wait for dinner
