Am I the only one who sees this "fallout" over Janet Jackson's Super Boob Sunday as being way over the top and hypocritical?

I mean let's put things into complete perspective here.

1. Football is a game of violence. It's a game where guys are encouraged to knock the living shit out of each other. It's also a game where the superstars of the league, ungraciously taunt each other after every single play, no matter how significant or insignificant that play may be. And the NFL is also a league where many of it's brightest superstars find themselves on the defendants side of sexual assault, murder, battery, or substance abuse trials.

2. Football, and the Super Bowl specifically, is one of the most bet upon events in the world. Men and Women pull their money out of their bank accounts and hang it all on the line. Isn't that a bigger story?

3. The advertisements during the Super Bowl included clips of the following

a) a Horse lifting up it's tail and farting on a young woman holding a candle, causing the woman to have burns all over her body
b) a man takes another person's beer by having his dog bite down onto the other man's ball sack.
c) a man getting verbally abused by his wife to show how "funny" it is because he's a referee.
d) the nice and classy people at Coors Light continued their winning tradition of showing women as objects, and having men lust after them.
e) clips of movies that contained scenes of violence and/or scary images.

4. Nudity is such a weird thing in this country. We're okay with seeing people get blown away on every single network station, and in every single movie. But the INSTANT that a singer, actress, or performer shows one ounce of nudity, everyone gets all up and arms. When it comes to nudity, people in this country act like nuns in a whorehouse.

I only bring up the above information because this really isn't all that important in the grand scheme of things. Was it intentional, was it unintentional? Besides a few days of discussion, I really don't see the point anymore. The FCC can investigate this all they want, and they can hand down fines which wouldn't put a dent in the bank account of either MTV, Janet Jackson, and most definitely CBS.

It's the Friday after the Super Bowl. Weapons aren't going to be found in Iraq. The Democrats are running a tight race in every single state. The President's approval rating is dropping. Aren't there bigger and more important things to talk about than Janet Jackson's boobs. This is just one more instance of the media and people having their eyes diverted from what's really important.
