JUST KIDDING

Ummm

I was interested to hear everyone's opinions regarding Mel Gibson's new movie, "The Passion of the Christ." I'm not setting this up for debate (but feel free to say what you want), but I was mainly just wondering what your impressions were before seeing the film. Has anyone seen it? I'll refrain from giving my personal beliefs on the life of Jesus and Christianity as a whole, because I'd mainly like to just see your reactions and whatnot. Please feel free to comment. :-)

I am usually not a big fan of biblical movies, so I'm not overly excited to see the movie. But with all of the controversy surrounding this movie, I don't see how I could not see it. I'm a type of person who likes to discuss and debate all kinds of films. So it's almost like a civic duty in my eyes that I eventually see a movie that is creating this much good and bad energy.

A lot of reviews are already coming in from throughout the country. Some have liked it, some haven't. Nearly all have said that it is by far one of the most violent movies ever made. Most critics warn that this isn't a movie that kids should be taken to without serious consideration first. A lot of critics have already weighed in on the movie's supposed anti-semitism. One critic has said that it's the most anti-semitic piece of propoganda to come out since the days of Nazi Germany. That is a VERY powerful statement to make and will only serve to fuel the controversy flames.

Thoughts?
